Five Quick Tips to Boost SEO in 2019
Search engine optimization in Jackson MS looks a lot different than it used to. Rather than stuffing content with keywords, SEO is now focused on factors like content quality, optimization, page speed and mobile friendliness. And, as people start searching the internet using their voice, we can expect that SEO will focus on semantics. It already has.
Already, we are halfway through with 2019, but there is still time to excel in your search engine optimization strategy. Below we share five of our favorite tips for boosting SEO in 2019.
1) Improve your website’s E-A-T.
Last summer, Google rolled out an algorithm update that was one of the biggest we’ve seen in a long time. For the most part, the update took a hit on health-related websites, though others were affected as well, such as e-commerce, business and finance. Even though E-A-T (Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trustworthiness) has always been part of the guidelines, the new update placed more importance on it.
To improve your site’s E-A-T, follow these tips:
- All content should be written by experts in your industry, not random freelancers.
- Your website should be transparent and include an About page, a Contact page, a Privacy Policy and links to references and external sources.
2) Add high-quality, visual content.
Visual content is an extremely important part of your SEO strategy. One type of image to focus on is an embeddable image. These types of images are easy to embed into other people’s content, making journalists more likely to use them. When they do, they will probably link back to you, which can help generate quality backlinks to your site.
3) Go on a podcast.
Another great way to create quality backlinks is by going on podcasts. It’s similar to guest posting but a lot easier. Podcasts are growing exponentially, as there are more than 700,000 active podcasts and more than 29 million podcast episodes as we speak. To be on a podcast, all you have to do is show up, say your piece (always share something valuable) and gain backlinks to your site.
4) Publish data from independent research.
Bloggers and journalists love when they have unique data to use for their own content. While you can search high and low for unique data, the best way to find this data is by running your own independent studies. Include graphs, pie charts and statistics to support your findings, and put everything into an easy-to-read infographic that will help your findings go viral.
5) Encourage people to comment on your blogs.
Believe it or not, blog comments can help your SEO. When people read your posts and see an active and engaged community, it shows that your site is alive and well. It also makes others more likely to leave feedback. Allow people to leave comments on your blogs, respond to all feedback and ask questions to further the discussions.
