When is the Best Time to Post on Social Media

social media marketing in New Orleans
Do you want to see more engagement from your social media marketing in New Orleans? Posting at the right time can make a big difference in the engagement you see from your audience. And, as you start getting more likes, comments and shares, your posts will become more visible.

Now, it’s important to know that there is no “best” time to post for every business. You can use this information as guidance, but you’ll still need to do your own testing to see what works for your audience.

Let’s take a look at the best times to post on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn based on research.

    Instagram

Instagram tends to have steady engagement between Mondays and Fridays during normal work hours. Early mornings before 6 am and late evenings after 9 pm is when usage begins to drop. This makes sense, as people are more likely to be out and about on the weekends and sleeping at night.

    • Best day to post: Wednesday
    • Worst day to post: Sunday
    • Best time to post: Wednesday at 11 am and Friday between 10-11 am

    Facebook

Facebook tends to have similar results to Instagram. Engagement is highest during the weekdays and then lightens up on the weekends. Both Facebook and Instagram claim that Wednesday at 11 am is best, but you’re safe posting anytime between Tuesday and Thursday from 8 am to 3 pm.

    • Best day to post: Wednesday
    • Worst day to post: Sunday
    • Best time to post: Wednesdays at 11 am and between 1-2 pm

    Twitter

Generally speaking, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm are the best times to post on Twitter. As with the other social media channels, engagement drops off early in the morning and late at night. But activity kicks up around 8 or 9 am, probably because people check their news feeds first thing in the morning.

    • Best day to post: Wednesday and Thursday
    • Worst day to post: Saturday
    • Best time to post: Wednesdays and Fridays at 9 am

    LinkedIn

LinkedIn caters to business professionals, so it’s no shocker that engagement is highest during the middle of the week. Tuesday and Friday between 8 am and 2 pm are the best times to post. Monday is the only day that gets less engagement.

    • Best day to post: Wednesday and Friday
    • Worst day to post: Sunday
    • Best time to post: Wednesday between 8-10 am and 12 pm; Thursday at 9 am and 1-2 pm; and Friday at 9 am

Remember, these are general guidelines. Use them as a benchmark, but run data reports to see what works best for your audience. There are a number of tools that can help with this, or you can hire a social media marketing company like KBDC, Inc to run the numbers for you.
